Kyoto #29: 南禅寺【Nanzen-Ji Temple】

No two things like this are the same in Kyoto…
There is waterway called “Suirokaku” in the precinct of Nanzen-Ji. It is said that it was designed in reference to the waterway of the ancient Roman age. Under the brick bridge where people can feel the age, the arches that overlap one another are fantastic. People will forget time and immerse theirself in a unique and mysterious world.

Two-types of garden…
Aside from its major buildings, the Nanzen-Ji has 12 subtemples. In addition, a number of the sub-temples have notable gardens, but only a few of these are open to the public except through special permission. Fortunately, Tenju-an tempe is always open to the public, which has the three most important gardens are available for visitors.
