Kiyomizu-dera Temple
Kiyomizu-temple is a world heritage which has a lot of important cultural property. precinct of temple is so huge that it takes almost 1 hour to walk around there. But when you finally go there, it’s also good and nice to walk and see without haste.
Welcome To the Awesome Gate…
When you come to Kiyomizu, you can see Nio-mon and Three-storied pagoda first. These are both very big and colored with vivid red and vermilion, so here in front go gate is popular photo spot for tourists.

What A Exciting Try…
Next to Three-storied Pagoda, there is Zuigu-Do Hall which gives us an interesting thing called Tainai-Meguri which means the inside mother’s womb. It’s so interesting and you can never experience like this aside from there. It costs just 100 yen, definitely worth it!!

Inside you can’t see anything because of completely dark so you hold on to the string of Buddhist rosary beads and go ahead with them. When you come back to the blighter world from the dark world, you can feel like being reborn and feel gratitude for your mother.

After you’ve passed through the approach, you walk through Todoroki-Mon Gate. This is the entrance gate to Kiyomizu-dera temple. This is also a Cultural Important heritage in Kyoto. Be sure to keep an eyes on everything from here!!

Inside temple is called ‘Butai‘ means stage, which is the most famous spot in Kiyomizu. Height is 12 meter from the ground, so you feel like you might fall down from here when you’re on the Kiyomizu-no-Butai. Everything looks so magnificent that makes you feel at piece.

FYI, in Japan, there is an old famous idiom ‘doing boldly as if you were jumping down from the Kiyomizu-no-Butai’. which is a common saying used when people make a bold decision. But now Kiyomizu-no-Butai is being under restoration work until 2020, so you can’t see the whole picture of it. But it’s still enough worth seeing it.
Wonderful Water Fall…
In Kiyomizu-Dera Temple, there is a famous waterfall called ‘Otowa no taki’, which has three kinds of flows, and each flow of waterfall gives divine favor to the study, the long life, and the love. Drinking from them to make your wishes come true. It is spring-water that has been flowing for more than 1000 years.
