Kohrin-In in Kyoto
Kohrin-In is one of the small temple of Daitoku-Ji in Kyoto. Daitoku-Ji is famous for having 24 small templess on its vast grounds. But most of them are usually closed, so people can visit only 4 temples, Ryogen-In, Daisen-In, Kohrin-In, Zuiho-In. They all have great gardens and traditional things!!

The superior’s quarters shows the Muromachi style and is endowned with simple beauty of the age when the building form of temples was influencing the residential form. The front gate is elegant and secure, and is known as atypical work of Muromachi-era.※1
A bunch of cultural properties…
Kara-mon gate is the entrance to main hall and is designated as an Important Cultural Property. It looks like a typical temple of Zen sect and people can visit the garden from the window named “Kato-mado” window. This view is really wonderful and it looks like one beautiful picture or art.

Traditional Green and Rock Garden…
There is a Hojo garden with a majestic stonework of Momoyama style, which was restored by gardener Nakane Kinsaku, and a tea room “Kakyo-tei“. It is a garden where the ideal world is expressed by exquisite arrangement of white sand and stone. It is open to the public only every year in spring and autumn.
