Fushimi Inari Taisha in Kyoto is one of the most famous shrines with its thousand torii gates, which are lined with thousands of vermilion torii gates, built in a beautiful shrine in Mt. Inari. Many people have seen it on TV or magazines at least once. Since a very long time ago, it’s been really popular with tourists, and it has become the most touristic spot visited in Japan.

The most attractive and popular thing is definitely “Senbon Torii” which means the thousands of torii. The spectacle of vermilion torii gates lined up is amazing, and it attracts many tourists in the world. Fushimi Inari Shrine was founded in 816, so it is a shrine with a history of more than 1200 years. Why don’t you visit the fantastic vermilion world?
Two Choice at First…
When people visit Fushimi Inari Taisha, they see great first torii gate and approaches, front one and back one. Front one is typical and Kyoto-like view, on the other hand, back approach have many street stalls and many souvenir shops. It’s all up to visitors.

Vermillion at the first sight…
A great vermilion torii is located in front of the main road, which seems like to announce the location of this major Shinto shrine. Up steps and through a large vermilion torii and walk along with the front approach, you enter the shrine precinct where have the main buildings called Gehaiden・Honden・Kaguraden, which is famous and popular things there.

Fantastic Vermillion World…
It’s known for many vermilion torii gates. Senbon torii is a symbol of Fushimi Inari Taisha. It means 1,000 torii but actually, there are about over 10,000 torii gates on the grounds of the shrine and they seem like vermilion tunnels. If people wear a yukata or kimono and take a picture in front of the vermilion torii gate, that would be beautiful memory!!
